Photographing Heritage ...

The primary purpose of this website is to promote interest in the many surviving foreign buildings in China’s former treaty ports and leased territories and in Hong Kong’s built heritage, through its 120 Declared Monuments.

Of secondary importance, there is a collection of landscape images and, for the ultimate landscape, one of panoramas. Finally, there is a small collection of people I have met on my travels.

Please contact me should you wish to use any of these images. I am keen to support on a pro bono basis heritage projects, historical publications, anything involving education and similar.

Recent: I am working with a publisher in Hong Kong to produce a book on my collection of Treaty Port images; completing this book was my priority throughout 2018 and will be for a large part of 2019.  August: Book design and layout draft completed; fine-tuning now in progress. I have also reorganised the Declared Monument galleries and added an extensive collection on Government House.
