Photographing Heritage ...

The primary purpose of this website is to promote interest in the many surviving foreign buildings in China’s former treaty ports and leased territories and in Hong Kong’s built heritage, through its 120 Declared Monuments.

Of secondary importance, there is a collection of landscape images and, for the ultimate landscape, one of panoramas. Finally, there is a small collection of people I have met on my travels.

Please contact me should you wish to use any of these images. I am keen to support heritage projects, historical publications and anything involving education.

Recent: I am working with a publisher in Hong Kong to produce a book on my collection of Treaty Port images; completing this book was my priority throughout 2018 and will be for a large part of 2019.  June: Book design and layout continue. I have also reorganised the Declared Monument galleries and added an extensive collection on Government House. I will add further images to the Declared Monument galleries in the coming weeks.
